Each campsite is located on a 13 acre island that is very close to the mainland. It is an easy kayak or row boat trip to the island. At low tide, the Island is connected to the mainland by mud flat. Each campsite is located on the northwest side of the Island and has direct ocean views. Each campsite is large and is well separated from the adjoining campsite. Further, each site has a steel fire ring with an adjustable grill and a picnic table. One site has a wooden tent platform. At the end of the Island is a screened in gazebo and benches that you can sit to watch the sun set over the open ocean. There are also two outhouses located on the Island. Fresh water is available on the mainland dock that is a very short paddle from the Island. Parking is plentiful and there is a very easy place to put your kayak in and out at both the Island and the mainland. It is also a great place to use as a base camp if you are planning to kayak to the other adjacent islands in Muscongus Bay. The Island at Flood’s Cove is an amazing place to camp if you desire a wilderness experience that is directly on the open ocean.
